Anonymous asked: Salaam. I know that this is a topic that usually isn’t something Muslims want to get into but I would really love to hear your opinion on Gay Muslims.I myself am a Gay Muslim and I at times feel like I’m not part of the Ummah at all, just a castaway or untouchable. I practice to the best of my ability. I haven’t missed a prayer in almost 2 years now (alhamdulilah wa shukr allah)
Wa alaykum salaam.
First can I just say subhanallah, the fact that you haven’t missed a prayer in that long is really amazing. May Allah bless you for that and help you to never miss another for the rest of your life :)
The simple fact that you haven’t missed a prayer in that long completely sums up what I would have said to begin with, I don’t think it matters whether you are Gay or not .. I think what matters is the level of iman that resides within the individual. If you can find time to bow your head 5 times a day in remembrance and give thanks to your Lord for what He’s given you/done for you then I think that shows how devout you are.
The first thing we say is Allahu Akbar, God is the greatest and then we continue on to “Bismillahir rahman ir raheem” - In the name of Allah the most gracious, the most merciful.
Allah is the greatest so how can we try to understand or assume who He will or won’t forgive, love or allow enter Jannah? His level of compassion and forgiveness is beyond our comprehension. We praise all of His mercy, acknowledge it and allow it to enter us. Allah is merciful and forgiving, He tells us that again and again. Because of that I can’t imagine Him punishing or turning away a believer because of who they love - especially when He is the most loving of all.
Inshallah you’ll be shaded on the Day of Judgement and enter Jannah, just as I pray for the rest of the Muslims. Sexuality means nothing when you compare it to the level of spirituality that lives inside a true Muslim.
Just when I thought I couldn’t love her more.
This really just made my morning.
