Jenin, Jenin is a film directed by Mohammed Bakri, a prominent Arab actor and Israeli citizen, in order to portray what Bakri calls “the Palestinian truth” about the “Battle of Jenin”,[2][3] a clash between the Israeli army and Palestinians in April 2002 which drew Palestinian accounts of a “Jenin Massacre” (Arabic: مجزرة جنين).
I urge you all to watch this heart-breaking documentary.
[I also would like to apologise as I’ve had to take out two images as they wouldn’t fit, though they do not at all deduct from the poignant message delivered]
The tragedy in all this is that no matter what Israel takes from the Palestinian people, they will never be satiated. They will always want more. More land, more lives, more indignities. Always more.
It might seem like that but there does come a point (hopefully) where war weariness takes over. Believe it or not but even the Israelis aren’t exactly fond of the violence. It’s not very fun living in the most dangerous neighborhoods in the world.
Hopefully what’s going to happen is that the Israelis will finally tire of the conflict and the violence and start exploring a viable solution seriously. This is more likely to happen if international pressure is focused, particularly as the international community grows tired of the threat to peace the conflict engenders. They can’t justify the occupation forever.
